Desktop Options for Two Factor Authentication

Overview

If you do not wish to use mobile devices for Two Factor Authentication (2FA) in GymSales, several desktop-based options are available. Below is a comparison of a few reputable providers.

You will need first need to set up an account with the provider of your choice before proceesing to enable 2FA in GymSales. Below we provide a step-by-step guide to enabling 2FA once you have chosen your provider. At the end of the article you can also find a video walkthrough.

Example Workflow to Set up 2FA using 1Password

1. Add your email and password in 1Password to your password Vault by selecting “+ New Item”.


2. Select “Login” when adding your item.

3. On the next screen, save your GymSales login email and password, as well as the URL: https://login.gymsales.net/users/sign_in


4. Now, navigate to https://login.gymsales.net/users/sign_in. 1Password will auto-populate your email and password to log you in, and you will see theQR code to set up 2FA. Select “Save one-time passcode” and 1Password will auto-fill the 6-digit code to enable 2FA.

5. Click the “Enable 2FA” button to finish setting up 2FA for your account.

6. You will be logged into GymSales with a confirmation of setup.

7. Next time you login to GymSales, 1Password will automatically populate your email and password as well as your 2FA code to log you in.

Implementation Guidance

  • We recommend that each user has their own individual authenticator accountwhen possible.
  • For shared workstations, restrict access to workstation login.
  • Encourage storing backup codes securely.
